Changes to the mental health profiles
NOTE: This is an interim page to notify users of changes to the collection of mental health profiles. It will be removed on 8 January 2026. After this date, users will be able to access individual mental health profiles directly from the 'Public health profiles' page.
New layout for the mental health profiles
Following the response to the health and social care statistical outputs consultation and further user engagement, the mental health profiles have been combined and streamlined. The new and combined profiles largely incorporate the content of the original profiles.
Two new profiles are now available:
Adult mental health and wellbeing
This profile combines the ‘Common mental disorders’, ‘Severe mental illness’ and 'Co-occurring substance misuse and mental health issues' profiles. It also includes the ‘Wellbeing' topic from the removed ‘Mental health and wellbeing JSNA’ profile.
Perinatal, children and young people's mental health
This profile combines the ‘Children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing’ and ‘Perinatal mental health’ profiles.
The following profile has not changed:
Suicide prevention
The profile presents data on suicide, associated risk factors and service contacts among groups at increased risk.
