Introduction

Welcome to the dementia profile. This profile has been developed to support the work of the Dementia Intelligence Network (DIN) in providing health intelligence with which to inform the provision of care of people in England who have dementia.

This tool provides indicators arranged into six data domains:

  • Prevalence
  • Preventing well
  • Diagnosing well
  • Living well
  • Supporting well
  • Dying well

These profiles are at Clinical Commissioning Group and Local Authority geographies and give local commissioners and providers the information they need to benchmark current practice against other CCGs, local authorities and England. Data and metadata are available online and as a download document.

We are now asking for feedback on the downloadable outputs which are available from the download section of the tool. Please complete the survey by clicking here.

To access the dementia profile, please click on the adjacent start button. A fingertips webtool user guide is also available.

Please find the link to the dementia data catalogue, providing a comprehensive list of datasets relevant to dementia.

Links to other MHDNIN dementia resources can be found on the Dementia data and analysis: a guide for health professionals page

Public  Health  England produce many profiles which supplement  each other.  The following profiles are examples which may help enrich the understanding of the population associated with dementia.

Adult Social Care  provides a range of data about people who use or have the potential to use Adult Social Care Services at local authority level.

National General Practice Profiles  presents a range of practice-level indicators drawn from the latest available data. In addition to viewing individual practice profiles, you can view summary profiles for CCGs.

Wider Determinants of Health aims to provide indicators to describe a range of wider determinants of health and highlight relationships with other risk factors and health outcomes.
