The Peer Benchmarking Tool contains a selection of indicators that reflect PHE’s national priorities. They provide a summary of determinants, risk factors and outcomes using indicators available in other Fingertips tools - particularly the Public Health Outcomes Framework. They are broken down into the following categories:

The following indicators from the Public Health Outcomes Framework (PHOF) have been added to the Core indicators domain:
2.01 – Low birth weight of term babies
2.03 – Smoking status at time of delivery
2.04 – Under 18 conceptions
2.15iii – Successful completion of alcohol treatment
2.15iv – Deaths from drug misuse
2.20iii – Cancer screening coverage – bowel cancer
4.01 – Infant mortality
The “Recent updates” domain includes all Core indicators updated in February 2017 and any other PHOF indicators, which were updated at the same time.
